Editorial Work & Festival Coverage with Frames Cinema
Editorial work developed with Frames Cinema, where I worked in a film journalism and editorial management context. Within that experience, Venice Film Festival coverage became one of the main occasions to produce criticism, festival reporting, and culturally framed editorial content.
I worked as Editor-in-Chief for Frames Cinema, where I wrote film reviews and retrospectives, contributed to the podcast Lost Highways, curated the film news column for part of 2022, and covered major festivals with press accreditation, including the 79th, 80th, 81st, and 82nd editions of the Venice International Film Festival, where I interviewed directors such as Lav Diaz and Fabrice Du Welz.
Since I was aware that my interests could sometimes lean too heavily toward niche topics and cultural products, my main effort was always to translate and adapt them for audiences that might be quite distant from my own perspective. I first did this through written content, and later through reels as well, a format I quickly found very natural to work with. Whenever I managed to connect distant points in a clear and engaging way, that was my greatest satisfaction. During festivals, given the fast pace, I preferred to prepare graphics and plan content in advance, while also trying to make the audience feel as if they were there with us. It was in that context, in particular, that I focused most on more time-sensitive tools such as Instagram Stories.
